Advanced modelling for assessment of BGS’s impacts on PH and WB in urban areas
28th September
Advanced modelling for assessment of BGS’s (Blue Green Solutions’) impacts on public health and wellbeing in urban areas
In this event will be presented the results from the MSc projects recently completed at Imperial College London as a part of 2 EU H2020 projects: euPOLIS and HEART. The topics include methodology on understanding and presenting how natural processes in an urban environment can be presented by physically-based modeling (CFD) in combination with other simpler models dealing with specific types and species of urban vegetation affect selected groups of NCDs (Non-communicable diseases) such as cardiovascular, respiratory, and metabolic ones. Initial modeling tests have been implemented in 4 FR Front Runner cities of the euPOLIS project in Europe: Belgrade-Serbia, Gladsaxe-Denmark, Lodz-Poland, and Piraeus-Greece and 3 cities in China: Fengxi New City, Shanghai and Wuxin.
