GEOSYSTEMS (GEOS) is a private sector enterprise, founded in 1989 and located in Germering near Munich, Germany. GEOS is a software vendor and service partner with outstanding expertise in remote sensing, photogrammetry, GIS and geospatial data management, relying on its technological strength paired with personalized advice in the basis of 30-year company history. Dr Ludwig Abele and Ulrich Terhalle founded GEOS on January 3, 1989, and secured the rights to market and to sell ERDAS® products, one of the first commercially available remote sensing software.

Worldwide, GEOS stands for excellent GeoIT solutions. Delivering the most comprehensive solutions in image exploitation, processing, visualization and data management, ERDAS provides robust image compression techniques and the most efficient delivery of imagery over the Internet or within an organization. With Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) interoperability, ERDAS develops solutions with the most advanced service-oriented platform available. Additionally, GEOS holds extensive expertise in regards to operational requirements/scenarios definition in fields of data exchange/sharing in an interoperability manner.
